11th Aug
Not too bad this morning, up at 05:30. .................and we set off for Clyde Inlet
So across Home Bay we go, it reminds me a bit of Morecambe Bay......mind you...... on steroids !!!!........really beautiful, warm too.
The wind has dropped significantly, we ease our way out of the Upper anchorage to see how the sea ice has moved overnight........................it's AMAZING !!! bar a few pieces it has nearly all gone, it really is staggering how it has dispersed in such a short period. What is left is fairly well seperated, though we do meet one ribbon of larger floes of sea ice. It looks as though it the last few sections of ice drifting down out the fjords at the head of Alexander Bay.
I wonder where the people came from that named the area around Clyde Inlet................mmmmmmmmmmm...let's see......Ailsa, Bute, Burns, Sanda Islands,........Govern and Kintyre Point.....nah can't be Glasgow. I wonder if they were feeling a bit homesick ???? Mind you, we are 800 miles (ish) north of Glasgow..........weather seems very similar though ha ha :-)
